Tanner White, an HIV-positive Marine, asks singer Steve Grand to the Marine Corps Ball.
Tanner White, who bills himself as “your favorite positive Marine” on his YouTube channel, has posted a new video in which he asks singer-songwriter Steve Grand to the 2015 Marine Corps Ball.
Grand is an openly gay country singer who is as famous for his hunky body as for his music. White is an HIV-positive social media activist who posts videos about HIV prevention and awareness. White’s goal with his videos is to “make the world a better place for those with HIV, and help reduce the stigma and give advice to those who are newly diagnosed and those…who haven’t gotten over the fact that they are HIV positive.”
In White’s latest video, which you can watch below, he asks “all-American boy” Steve Grand on a date: “I would like for you to go with me to the 2015 Marine Corps Ball in November in Wilmington, North Carolina, as my date. Hopefully you say yes. If not, it was worth a shot. So…please help me get this video out and hopefully I will be going to the ball with Steve Grand this year.”
UPDATE: Grand has responded with, “I accept!” You can watch that video at the bottom of this post.
